Changing the Base on Ornamotion or Ornamotors

We carry the widest selection of Ornamotion and Ormamotion Rotating Ornament Spinners on the Internet. These green colored spinnners add motion and light to an artificial or real Christmas tree display.

These products are the same in terms of their power and the manner in which they enhance an ornament on your tree. The primary difference is not in the device but, in the length of the pigtail (cord between the device and the plug in tip) on the device. The Ornamotion with pigtail is 5-3/4" long. Ornamotor is 6-3/4" long including the pigtail. Allow for the length of the pigtail and length of the string on your ornament when deciding where to place the rotator and ornament. Depending upon the hook, you may be able to remove the string altogether and attach the ornament to the hook of the rotator.

Ornamotions are available in electrical and clear lights with rotation, up and down, or rotating only single and multiple packs. Ornamotors are available in electrical clear lighted, rotating only, up and down only, battery operated rotating, single and multiple packs. Packaged in single pack, double pack, three pack. Suitable for use with light - medium weight ornaments weighing up to 3 oz. The battery operated Ornamotor is slightly larger than other Ornamotors.

There is no standard size for the plug-in bases used on mini light sets. Consequently, the base of your Ornamotor/Ornamotion may be too large or too small for the light socket in your set. If this happens, you need to swap out the bases. In other words, exchange the plug-in base of the Ornamotor with that from one of the lights on your set. If you've ever replaced a bulb in a mini light set, the procedure is pretty much the same. Decide which light to change then, carefully pull out the bulb. Lift up the metal connectors on each side and remove the bulb from its' base. Do the same on the base of the ornament rotator and subsitute the base removed from your light set. Be sure to keep all pieces as you may need to change it again in the future. The packaging and/or inserts provided with the ornament rotators may give more specific details.\

UL Listed Ornamotions are intended for use with UL Listed 2.4 - 4.5 V, non-blinking lights only. Do not use more than 3 Ornamotors/Ornamotion per 100 light set.

Can Ornament motors be used with LED lights? In a word, no. The powering device is not strong enough to rotate an ornament. However, we've been assured (as of 2012) that manufacturers are working on this problem and if it can be resolved, ornament motors for LED's will be available soon.
